Beginners / Little Musketeers

Classes will provide a great introduction to fencing and a forum for more advanced training. We make the class fun as well as educational. We teach general fitness using Fencing specific activities and games. Our goal is to inspire them to make good choices and develop a healthy attitude towards sports, training and discipline. We continue to challenge the students as they progress through the program. The program will include bouting and other events that will increase the students preparedness for continuing the sport for life.

Intermediate and Advanced Fencers

Intermediate and Advanced fencers may, with coach approval, join one of the Windy City Fencing teams, which practice multiple times each week.   Alternatively, older beginning students, and students interested in fewer practices each week, may join team practices once or twice a week, with coach permission.

While equipment is available, Intermediate and especially Advanced fencers will want to purchase their own equipment.  The WCF coaches can help you decide when and what to buy.

Adult Fencing

Fencing is a sport for all ages!  Our adult class is on Tuesday evenings, 7:30-9:00, and welcomes beginning and more advanced fencers.  Maybe you fenced in high school or college but it’s been a while, or maybe fencing is something you always wanted to try but never had the opportunity.  It’s never too late — tap into your inner Zorro or Errol Flynn!  It’s a great workout and a lot more fun than going to the gym.

And if you get bitten by the fencing bug, USA Fencing runs National competitions in Veterans 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and over 70 age group and fields World Teams in each age group for the Veterans World Cup.  Take the first step by signing up for Adult Fencing at The Menomonee Club.
